Mmmhhhh! What's this silly thing on my head? I think I need a haircut Mum, I'm starting to look like an urchin rather than a Princess!!! Only 9 days to go untill Christmas! My brother Casper Bear is so excited, he never shuts up! Wonder what Santa will be bringing for me and Casper? Maybe nothing I suppose! Have we been good enough? Mmmhh, we have been bickering a bit! Keeping fingers crossed! Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!
Jinny - a Yorkshire Terrier - was born in Trostrey, Usk, Monmouthshire on 7th December 1992. She never left my Mums' side in all the years they were together. They went everywhere together and were the best of friends.
Today would have been "Jinny's" 18th Birthday if she was still with us. She sadly had to cross over The Rainbow Bridge on 28th March 2002 after having kidney failure and epileptic seizures.
It was after Jinny - the original Genista, that Mum first named her Teddy Bear business "The House Of Genista", in Memory of her beloved Princess. She was Mums' Baby through and through and the family still miss her terribly. As Mum always says
Jinny certainly left behind "Her Paw Prints In Our Hearts"
Mum says, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRINCESS" wherever you are across The Rainbow Bridge. As always we have remembered your Birthday by placing a bouquet of flowers next to your casket and have lit a candle for you. We love you dearly!"
This is my Brother Casper Bear. He is a Chocolate Labrador and almost nine months old. He was diagnosed with Canine Hip Dysplasia when he was just 6 months old. He is such a lot of fun and looks after me when we go for walks. He is always happy despite his condition, which is quite acute. He plays with me and sometimes I do bite him! Awhh, I hear you say, but I am only small and he is VERY BIG to me. Whe he charges at me sometimes I just panic and bite him. He never growls at me though. Oh dear, I've made myself feel guilty now, that's not like The Princess.
We got Casper a few months after my brother "Jasper" crossed over the Rainbow Bridge in February this year. It was so quiet without Jasper (who was a little bit of a monkey), that Mum couldn't bear it, and Mum had a dream that Jasper was coming back to her as a Chocolate Labrador, so the hunt for a Chocolate Lab was on. Mum scoured the papers and internet and eventually we found Casper in Nottingham. What a little chocolate pudding he was too, just eight weeks old but still bigger than me. I guess I'll just always be short! Even the cats are bigger than me and the tortoise is getting there fast too! Oh well, they say the BEST things come in small packages don't they?
It's true Casper is so like Jasper in so many ways, everyone says so, I'm starting to think Mum was right - eerie! He even does the same "eyes" as Jasper did. Mum well believes in all that sort of thing so I just play along with her anyway! Still, I'm not so sure it's not right!
Well, I'm off for my nap! We girls have to get our beauty sleep.
More about me and my family and things and fun stuff again soon.
My name is Genista Gold Milaika - it means Genista Gold Angel (Genista is pronounce Jennista with a J) but my friends call me Megan, Meg for short. I am a Yorkshire Terrier, born in Rhydefelin to Rosie and Jim on April 1st 2003. I live in South Wales UK with my Mum, Dad, brother Casper Bear, Oliver, Olivia, Timmy, Itsy, Bitsy and Perky. My brother Casper Bear has his own blog so I thought as I AM the "Princess" I should have one too.
I sometimes share pictures/graphics that have been gathered from various sources on the internet. If by chance you hold the copyright to any of these, please email me and I will remove them from my blog immediately.......
